Mestalla brimming with emotions running high
Relive the emotional events that took place in the run-up to Valencia CF-Real Betis to pay tribute to the victims and those affected by the tragic flash floods
After the game against Real Zaragoza, Manu Vallejo gave his verdict on the contest and expressed the team's desire to put the defeat behind them.
"We're all clear that it wasn't a good game at all from us. In the end, it's another preseason test, and we're assimilating the concepts that the coach wants to transmit. We've got a lot to improve and to correct, but the good thing is that there is the agreement amongst the squad that we want, and the desire is there. It's another game, we have to forget about it and keep working, because this is normal in preseason," he told VCF Media.
"In the end, we're Valencia CF, and we want to win every game. We tried to do what the coach asked of us, but we haven't had much time together yet and there has been a lot of exertion. We can only keep on working and correcting things, facing every preseason game with the mindset of reaching the first game of the season in the best shape possible," commented Vallejo, just over 2 weeks out from the opening LaLiga game of 2021/22 against Getafe.
"We have to correct things, improve and work hard. We have another game coming up on Friday, against Levante. We're going to try to do things well and prepare to win. Above all, we want to go into the first LaLiga game in good form."
